Questions about Cephable Control

Voice and commands

Cephable voice commands let you run your computer and your apps by saying what you'd otherwise click or type, like "new email" or "next slide." Commands work across Windows and Mac apps and the operating system itself, with prebuilt controls for hundreds of apps, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Webex. Your voice is processed on your device.

Cephable switches command sets automatically when you move between apps. It keeps a catalog of global and app-specific keyboard shortcuts for hundreds of apps, built from each app's own documentation. So when you're in Webex, Cephable already knows every Webex shortcut. You can favorite the commands you use most.

Cephable dictation turns speech into clean text in any app where you can type. It adds punctuation and grammar automatically, handles proper nouns and acronyms, and drops some filler words. Dictation runs on your device. To turn a rough spoken draft into polished writing, dictate into Cephable Create and ask it to rewrite.

Cephable voice commands and dictation work in eight languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The Cephable app itself is available in the same eight languages. Speech is processed on your device in every supported language. To translate text into more languages, Cephable Create supports 36.

Usually not. Cephable listens for the primary speaker's voice and for commands that make sense in the app you're using. So game audio, a TV, or people talking nearby shouldn't trigger actions. A headset microphone gives the best results in loud rooms.

Custom controls

Yes. In Cephable you can map any word or phrase to any keyboard, mouse, or gamepad action. You can also chain several actions into a single macro. You can build custom on-screen buttons, touchpads, and joystick layouts too, so every task runs the way that suits you.

Yes. The Cephable mobile app works as a quick-action button pad for your computer. The browser-based controller at controller.cephable.com lets you design your own layouts and run them from any phone or tablet. Button presses from the web controller pass through Cephable's service. Voice commands stay on your device.

Yes. Turn on camera controls in Cephable Extensions to move the pointer with head movement and trigger actions with facial expressions. The camera feed is processed on your device and never leaves it. You can combine camera input with voice commands and custom buttons.

Games and apps

Yes. Cephable maps voice commands, head movement, or on-screen buttons to keyboard, mouse, or Xbox-style gamepad input in PC games. It includes ready-made templates for popular titles like Minecraft and Valorant, and it can generate controls for other games when you ask. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has an official Cephable integration.
